Code of Conduct

Workplace Ninjas Canada events exist so that everyone in the Microsoft endpoint and security community can learn, share, and connect in a friendly, inclusive, and cooperative atmosphere — on an equal level with the audience. That only works if everyone feels safe and welcome. This code of conduct applies to all our events, including sessions, breaks, networking, and online spaces connected to them.

The short version

Be kind. Be respectful. Be a ninja, not a jerk.

Expected behaviour

• Be welcoming and inclusive to everyone, regardless of experience level, role, employer, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, race, ethnicity, age, or religion.
• Share knowledge generously and give credit where it's due.
• Respect differing viewpoints and experiences — technical debates are welcome, personal attacks are not.
• Respect the venue, its staff, and its rules.

Unacceptable behaviour

• Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form.
• Offensive comments, unwelcome sexual attention, or inappropriate imagery.
• Sustained disruption of sessions or other event activities.
• Recruiting-by-ambush or aggressive commercial solicitation — sponsors are part of the community; hard-sell tactics are not.

Reporting and enforcement

If you experience or witness behaviour that violates this code, please tell any organizer or volunteer at the event, or reach us through the contact form — reports are handled confidentially. Organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, from a warning to expulsion from the event without recourse.

This code of conduct is inspired by the practices of the global Workplace Ninjas Community and community conferences worldwide.
