It was an excellent day for an independently organized Workplace Ninja event in Canada — the first one on Canadian soil. The team at VanTUG took on the task of bringing this fantastic initiative to their local community, and the result spoke for itself: the event was well organized, with great speakers, very relevant sessions and fantastic engagement from the crowd. We also had great support from the local Microsoft Intune team.
David opened the day by presenting his vision for the future of Intune, building on his Microsoft TechEd 2012 session "Intune for the Enterprise". More than a decade on, we are still dealing with the same challenges, but significant progress has been made on many fronts — and with network and firewall security reaching a limited scope today, identity has become the new security boundary.
Kyle walked through Patch My PC's product capabilities and gave the crowd a look at the new cloud-based portal.
Dave and Travis covered the challenges of managing native functionality on Microsoft products and how Nerdio adds value by simplifying management and saving resources and Azure consumption — including a look at Nerdio's new CIS-hardened images.
Matthew took a deep dive into Multi App Kiosk mode in Windows 11 — highlighted a few times as the best session of the day in the feedback forms.
Kevin walked through the current capabilities of Intune Application Protection Policies and where they fit in a modern management strategy.
David and Helio guided the crowd through Entra ID components and provided guidance on extending the use of Entra ID functions that are already part of your current licensing.
